Republican Governors Association is Right: Stacey Whoever is Bad for Their Georgia

Lame Digital Campaign Reeks of Desperation Ahead of 2018 Elections

Stacey Whoever is a lame campaign from the Republican Governors Association. Apparently, the Staceys are not significant enough to distinguish. They are both just Atlanta area lawyer’s who are too far left to represent Georgia. Or so they say.

When the Republican Governors Association says that “Stacey Whoever” is bad for Georgia, they mean their Georgia. There needs to be a firm rejection of the type of Georgia that the Republican Governors Association is fighting for. In their Georgia, there is no respect for fundamental human decency or human rights.

Their Georgia would discriminate against those with Limited English Proficiency and waste precious state resources and funds fighting to protect unconstitutional actions.

Their Georgia would continue to ignore the thousands of Georgians who do not have access to healthcare because our State failed to expand Medicaid.

Their Georgia would deny children the potential for loving families, by allowing discrimination against LGBTQ families in the adoption process.

Their Georgia would allow guns in our schools.

Their Georgia encourages discrimination and hatred of those who are different to distract from economic exploitation and denying access to vital resources.

And the list goes on.

I know we’re supposed to go high when they go low. Take the higher road and all that jazz. But we don’t have to go too low when the Republican candidates for Governor are content on making a mockery of themselves on the State and National stage. They are in a race to the bottom.

Georgia is changing for the better. A state that puts a premium on protecting rights and opportunity for all is vibrant and successful.

The Stacey who becomes the Democratic nominee in May needs to have a strong plan and organizational strategy to win. Recycling the same old tactics and appealing to near-extinct voting blocks will not overcome the grasp the Republicans have on the Governor’s mansion.
